Whats the difference between a app server and a web server? Is apache a web server. I read a lot of docs on the net but still dont understand. Can anyone explain?

I agree. Here's the link: http://ej-technologies/jprofiler - if it wasn't for jprofiler, we would need to run our stuff on 16 servers instead of 3.
