Hi, I am deploying a simple servlet with NetBeans IDE 6.0.
But I got tons of error.

Deployment error:
Access to Tomcat server has not been authorized. Set the correct username and password with the "manager" role in the Tomcat customizer in the Server Manager.

I saw in the file tomcat-user.xml

I already set the username and password in NetBeans 6.0 as "tomcat" and "tomcat".
Why I get errors?

To use the manager app, you'll need to add a new role entry in tomcat-users.xml named "manager",
Then add a new user with "manager" in the list of roles for that user.

You'll have to restart Tomcat for these changes to take effect.

Thanks. It does work.
But if I shut down NetBeans 6.0, I failed to start Tomcat by executing startup.bat from dos command, unless I delete this line.

NOTE
You can edit or see usernameand password in
C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache Tomcat 6.0.14\conf\tomcat-users.xml to input username and password.
Defaul username: ide and pass auto create
