Don't see 404 error in any Tomcat logs

Dear Ranchers:
My Tomcat 5.5.26 installation on WinXP64 seems to work since I see the welcome page fine.

I've configured log4j and my common/classes/log4j.properties looks as follows:

I tried to deploy a .war file in the webapps directory and have been getting "HTTP Status 404"

I'm trying to get more information about this from the logs, but none of the logs seems to record anything about this.

Could anyone please help me show how I can turn on logging to catch errors like this.

Regards,
May
