Any Solution in perl or java to resolve file error coming in sp3?

Hi All,
I installed SP3 and tried opening excel sheet 2003. It's showing file error -data might have lost error and if we click ok then that sheet is opening. What is the fix for that? Is there any code wise resoultion in perl or java? Please help me in this as soon as possible.

Welcome to JavaRanch.

Guess that you installed officeXP SP3. Considering that your file was working earlier the error that you see could be because of corrupt installation or bug in the hotfix.

Well, you should first check with microsoft if there is some problem of that type with the installation before finding a programmatic solution. So, posting in microsoft forums might be more helpful.

Also, this section of JavaRanch is dedicated for Apache/Tomcat related posts and yourquery no ways matches that. Kindly carefully choose one forum before posting.

If you are sure enough that there has to be a programmatic solution for that suggested by microsoft(which hardly can be true or better will be C# ) elaborate your problem and maybe someone can lend a helping hand.
