Using a Tomcat installation on XP across multiple users

Hi,

I have Tomcat installed on my PC and it works fine under the XP userid who installed it but it won't work for other XP userids. Do you know why?

Here are the specifics:
1. Installed Tomcat by XP admin user - all works fine under this user.
2. Logon as another user (either a different admin user or a standard user) and the Tomcat Service shows as running but 'permission denied' when trying to restart it. Also http://localhost:8080 simply returns 'Page Cannot Be Displayed / DNS error...'

Thanks,

Guy

Guy Guy,
Welcome to JavaRanch.

We are a friendly forum but there are a few rules that need to be followed. Please check the display name requirements and adjust your name accordingly.

In particular your display name should be a combination of your fisrt name and last name separated by space and should not be obviously fictious.

(Any ideas about my question?)

I agree. Here's the link: http://zeroturnaround.com/jrebel - it saves me about five hours per week
