I am using the java envirnment as "jdk1.5.0_15". In the startin when I start tomcat it gives the default tomcat page, but when I deploye the tomcat with project.net by using steps given in the link "http://dev.project.net/trac/pnet-community/wiki/Production-Tomcat55" then I have came the error on "http://localhost:8081/" as:

"HTTP Status 500 -

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

type Exception report

message

description The server encountered an internal error () that prevented it from fulfilling this request.

exception

java.lang.RuntimeException: Error initializing application. Error loading properties: net.project.base.property.PropertyException: Unable to load any specified brand or the default brand: net.project.persistence.PersistenceException: Brand.loadProperties(): Unable to load brand from datbase. This error often indicates the database could not be accessed. Please check your database configuration or contract your system administrator: org.apache.tomcat.dbcp.dbcp.SQLNestedException: Cannot create PoolableConnectionFactory (ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied

net.project.security.SessionAccessFilter.doFilter(SessionAccessFilter.java:71)

note The full stack trace of the root cause is available in the Apache Tomcat/5.5.25 logs."

and only on "http://localhost:8081/manager/html" shows the page. sometimes another error shows as:

"HTTP Status 404 - /manager/

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

type Status report

message /manager/

description The requested resource (/manager/) is not available.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Apache Tomcat/5.5.25"

Ya Hi,this is viswanadh.

As you were stating that the port number is having some problem it is because of the mis-match of the port numbers in your local machine applications.

I have encountered the same previously when i was using oracle9i and tomcat simultaneously since because oracle9i and tomcat supports the default port number of 8080 due to which one application stops or it doesnt respond exactly what the useris expecting. So its better if you shutdown or since the tomcat is a small application re-install it by changing the port number at the start while installing the application.

Any doubts get back to me for further help.
