how to access Tomcat Remotely?

hi friends.

tell me that how can i access an application(i-e a forum) on the remote machine over the internet???

and also tell me should i put the port 8080 or simple 80 in the url??

As you are referring to access over internet please look into the manual provided by the hosting company.

thanks friend for paying attention.but un4tunately i dont hava any manual neither the hosting company gave me....basically i just want to browse an application deployed on my office upon Tomcat.
that is accessible through "localhost" but i want to browse it from my home Computer.... so how is this possible

another thing i do know the ip of my office machine

Have you tried to replace 'localhost' with the IP-adr. to your office machine??

Is the office's firewall's port forward enabled on the port used by Tomcat??

Please check whether the Firewall is ON/OFF in the localhost.
Sometimes if it's OFF only this can be accessible
from other machines.

Also if proxy is set in the
remote host, try to by-pass this particular
application(URL) from the remote machine.
