Dynamic content problem with Tomcat 6.x

I have problem that Tomcat 6.0.14 and 6.0.18 does not serve dynamic content. For example link http://localhost:8080 shows that resource does not exist and link http://localhost:8080/root shows main tomcat page (index.html). However, when i click on manager app or tomcat status link i get error 404. Also, i cannot deploy any application. Log files are regular and there is no error logged. OS: OpenSuse 11, java 1.6u10.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Goran Kljajic

One thing to maybe check is your usage of JDK1.6u10, it's still a Beta, so I'd maybe try swapping to 1.6.0_07
