Hi there,
There is no 'examples' application served up by JBoss 3.0.6/Tomcat 4.x that I know of. Maybe you're trying to serve pages from an app that doesn't exist?

Hi i am using JBoss 3.0.6/Tomcat 4.x so i think when i start jboss my servlet engine(Tomcat) should start and there is an example context in tomcat and I should be able to run example 'Servlets' (Not EJBs) of tomcat by calling url http://localhost:8080/examples/servlet/HelloWorldServlet.
these servlets run on my standalone tomcat then why not they run in case of JBoss 3.0.6/Tomcat 4.x

Hi there,
I am not sure that will work. But I do know that if you execute the Tomcat Server by itself (i.e. from the tomcat/bin directory included in JBoss) then the app should run. Likewise, you could place the example war file in JBoss' deploy directory and then start up JBoss.

Welcome to JavaRanch patidar,
We don't have a lot of rules around here. In fact the one big rule is "Be nice." But there's another one that requires you to use a display name that is either your real name or looks like a real name. Remember the naming policy that you read when registering?
Please take a minute to change your display name to show two names, preferably real names. It's all about maintaining our professional image - don't let's the one-eyed moose fool you!
Hope you'll be visiting the ranch often,
Pauline
