Before I offer my suggestion, I want to say this is a great site, a great source of info. I hope I can be more help to others as time goes on!
My question is this: While I think your naming policy makes sense, why don't you check people for adherence to the conventions when they sign up, rather than forcing your moderators to do it? (And us to read it!!) It makes you seem so "formal" to always be bringing it up.... not really very "ranch-like" :^)
Or maybe you've already implemented it in the new JSP version....
Well, I'm off to check out Paul's new colorful code bits.

The software we are using for the forums is written in Perl. Any changes we make would be lost the next time we upgrade. Plus, I looked at the Perl code and it didn't look like an easy fix.
I'm thinking we will probably upgrade in January and at that time I'll make another attempt to update the code to include this change.
