deploying war file in unix

Hi
i am having problem deploying war file on unix server. i have the same war file if i drop it on my windows machine in the server/default/deploy machine it works fine but when i drop in the same directory in the unix machine and when i point my browser to http://machinename:8080/myapp/login.jsp nothing comes up only a blank page.
Can anyone help me out with this

Did anyone got to know where exactly is the problem
The same application is fine if i deployed it in Jboss on my windows desktop, but it doesn't work if i drop the war file in unix
is it becoz i am missing something
any help
