JBOSS startup error

Hello -

I am using JBoss 3.2.6 and would like to use sql server 2000. For that, I have modified
mssql-ds.xml , standardjbocccmp-jdbc.xml, jbosscmp-jdbc.xml

To configure JBOSS for SQL Server, I followed the instructions in http://www.oreillynet.com/cs/user/view/cs_msg/33739

When i start the jboss server and open http://localhost:8080/jmx-console ,
i see under JBOSS
jboss
database=localDB,service=Hypersonic [does that mean, it is still pointing to Hypersonic instead of sqlserver ?] Also, when I tried to run JBoss, it gives me the following error. Why is this happening ? Thanks !

17:01:20,235 ERROR [HypersonicDatabase] Starting failed jboss:service=Hypersonic,database=localDB
java.sql.SQLException: General error: java.lang.NullPointerException
at org.hsqldb.jdbc.jdbcUtil.sqlException(Unknown Source)
at org.hsqldb.jdbc.jdbcConnection.<init>(Unknown Source)
at org.hsqldb.jdbcDriver.getConnection(Unknown Source)
at org.hsqldb.jdbcDriver.connect(Unknown Source)

These are the xml files that I am using

mssql-ds.xml
<datasources>
<local-tx-datasource>
<jndi-name>MSSQLDS</jndi-name>
<connection-url>jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://localhost:1433;DatabaseName=Test</connection-url>
<driver-class>com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver</driver-class>
<user-name>x</user-name>
<password>y</password>

</local-tx-datasource>

</datasources>

standardjbosscmp-jdbc.xml the lines that I changed are in italics

<jbosscmp-jdbc>

<defaults>
<datasource>java:/MSSQLDS</datasource>
<datasource-mapping>MS SQLSERVER2000</datasource-mapping>

jbosscmp-jdbc.xml

<jbosscmp-jdbc>
<defaults>
<datasource>java:/MSSQLDS</datasource>
<datasource-mapping>MS SQLSERVER2000</datasource-mapping>

I had the same problem, you can solve it adding your db connection to the default one in the mssql-ds.xml file.
Try with :

<datasources>
<local-tx-datasource>
<jndi-name>MSSQLDS</jndi-name>
<connection-url>jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://localhost:1433;DatabaseName=Test</connection-url>
<driver-class>com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver</driver-class>
<user-name>x</user-name>
<password>y</password>

</local-tx-datasource>

</datasources>

<local-tx-datasource>
<jndi-name>DefaultDS</jndi-name>
<connection-url>jdbc:hsqldb:${jboss.server.data.dir}${/}hypersonic${/}localDB</connection-url>
<driver-class>org.hsqldb.jdbcDriver</driver-class>
<user-name>sa</user-name>
<password></password>
<min-pool-size>5</min-pool-size>
<max-pool-size>20</max-pool-size>
<idle-timeout-minutes>5</idle-timeout-minutes>
<track-statements/>
<security-domain>HsqlDbRealm</security-domain>
<prepared-statement-cache-size>32</prepared-statement-cache-size>
<depends>jboss:service=Hypersonic,database=localDB</depends>
</local-tx-datasource>
<mbean code="org.jboss.jdbc.HypersonicDatabase" name="jboss:service=Hypersonic,database=localDB">
<attribute name="Database">localDB</attribute>
<attribute name="InProcessMode">true</attribute>
</mbean>
</datasources>

Thanks for getting back. It was working fine now. what i did was to re-install jboss and re-configure it all over !!
