JSR 77 - starting & stopping application

Requirement: start and stop a j2ee application hosted in j2ee container. Expose these operations as MBeans.

1)If a J2EE server is jsr 77 compliant(like jboss I am assuming), then I would get these features out of the box for free. True/False?

2) If (1) is true, how can I start and stop an application through JBoss JMX web console? I am able to stop an entire jboss server but not a single deployed application in isolation.

Any help appreacited.
