Tom,

Does your book talk about usinf SAR files in Jboss. I could not see any mention of SAR in Table of Contents page.

No, we don't cover SAR files. We thought about them, but we didn't need them to deploy JSPs, Servlets, EJBs, Hibernate, JAAS, or Web Services. Since this represents 95% (if not all) of what you'll need, we didn't feel it fit with the rest of the book. Our goal was to avoid internals and just help people do their job - developing and deploying J2EE applications on JBoss.

But if you actually need a SAR file (for JMX), then you can easily find information on the JBoss Wiki - http://www.jboss.com/wiki/Wiki.jsp

There's also a good reference book called JBoss 4.0: The Official Guide. It would have information on SARs and other JBoss internals.
