How can I easily test to see if JBoss installed fine or not? This forum doesn't seem to be too active, can anyone answer this one? Thanks in advance.

Just run the run.bat file present in %JBOSS_HOME%/bin folder and wait for the Server started message (which will not take more than around 1 to 2 minutes to come up)

Just unzip the JBoss ZIP file and run the file run.bat.

Did you download the binary or the source code version ?

Ron, to see if it is running, just go to http://localhost:8080/web-console

That is the simplest.

Now here is a caveat, while that will show you that JBoss is running, it does not necessarily mean that everything services and apps got deployed. You could still have an exception in a service that doesn't deploy but still JBoss is running and installed. You have to look at the console and check to see if any exceptions show up.
