Null Pointer Exception

Hello,

I tried the sample tutorial to learn EJB.
I get null pointer exception while trying to deploy the .war file/ejb3 file or running the same using junit test case

I get error in this line
" statelessBean = (TestStateless)context.lookup("TestStateless/remote"); "

junit test class

public void testtestBean() {
System.out.println("Hello");
try {
Context context = new InitialContext();

statelessBean = (TestStateless)context.lookup("TestStateless/remote");
} catch (NamingException e) {
// TODO Auto-generated catch block
e.printStackTrace();
}

String result = statelessBean.testBean();
assertNotNull("the server returned this string", result);

}

TestStatelessbean file
package com.j3ltd.test.ejbs;

import javax.ejb.Stateless;
import com.j3ltd.test.ejbs.TestStateless;

public @Stateless class TestStatelessBean implements TestStateless {

public String testBean() {
return "the server returned this string";
}

}

looks like it is trying to connect to an App Server that isn't currently running.
