I have changed the server.xml file under \server\default\deploy\jboss-web.deployer with no results. I can change the port to 8081 or any number like that and it works fine, but if I try to change it to 80 I cannot access http://localhost/.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to JavaRanch

A couple of days back there was a similar thread where this was discussed. See if it helps.

but if I try to change it to 80 I cannot access http:// localhost/

Do you see any error messages, either on the browser or in the server.log file?

You might have some other server running on that particular port like IIS. Go to services, stop IIS and then try to run JBoss. Hope it helps.
