Hi
When I downloaded JBoss I found that on site they say that there is no documentation avavilable for JBoss and the one is avavilable is in printed form and also not free.
Thanks Haven, they have provided a link to old documentaion http://www.jboss.org/online-manual/HTML/index.html, and beleive me that is more than enough to run a simple EJB source. Good news is that they have provided a downloadable example also(YES source code).
So now every thing starts about installation and running of JBoss with Tomcat server.
I think if some search for Tomcat then he will get lot of stuff regarding Tomcat , so I am not talking anything about Tomcat.
1) Download JBoss
2) Download Ant http://jakarta.apache.org/builds/jakarta-ant/release/v1.4/bin/ . This is the tool used to create jar, war and all *ar files.
3) Install Ant (this is called spoon feeding)
4) Go through Ant documentation first. Follow the tips they give:
a) Set the ANT_HOME environment variable to the directory where you installed Ant
b) set the JAVA_HOME environment variable to the directory where your JDK is installed.
c) Set path to ANT_HOME\bin.

5) Download JBoss Example.
6) Go through JBoss documentation and again follow steps they say you to do.
a) set the JBOSS_DIST environment variable to the installation location of JBoss
7) Surprising my first EJB (of course from Example) is running.
Now point to remember :
i) when you set JAVA_HOME, DO NOT PUT ';' after path.
ii) when you set ANT_HOME, DO NOT PUT ';' after path.
iii) If you have downloaded JBoss with Tomcat then JBOSS_DIST should be path to JBoss directory inside main dwonloaded directory.
iv) In JAVA world installation means just create a directory and copy stuff in that directory, DO NOT expect any setup.exe (whom am I telling this)
That all ...
You are all ready to run JBoss..
I do not know how valuable is this information, but I tried to search JBoss installation, but I did not get enough information to Download the JBoss(Though I downloaded first then start looking for resource, I luv free stuff)
I think I am trying return things to Ranchers.......
