You can see the hired guns site at www.javaranch.com/guns If you have any recruiter buddies, I hope you tell them about it. So far it seems to be off to a pretty good start! Oh yeah! And it wouldn't hurt if you popped over and said hi to some local recruiters. Let them know that there really are some Java pople here. After all, they're sponsoring the ranch!

Yes, a good idea. I agree. ------------------ Michael Finney Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform Sun Certified Developer for the Java 2 Platform
FYI, I just checked out the Boston site, based on the phone numbers, there seem to be some people a bit out of their geographic range. --Mark hershey@vaultus.com
Each recruiter is limited to three cities - so they can't get too wild. Some companies have offices in multiple cities, but the recruiter does recruit for the other offices.

I don't quite understand the purpose of the "travel or telecommute" section. Is it aimed at people living in the USA and willing to work elsewhere, or aimed at people outside the USA willing to work in the USA. I'd love to promote this service to the many agencies who contact me, but they mostly deal only with employment here in the UK and I don't know whether they (and their money?) would be appropriate for the "hired guns". Any hints?
Version 2 will be international. I just wanted to start off with something simple. The "travel or telecommute" section is for engineers looking for travel or telecommute positions in the US or around the world. It doesn't matter where they are from.
