We recently upgraded our oracle box from 8.0.5 to 8i. We had an application on Iplanet 4.x server. It was working fine with 8.0.5. But once we upgraded our oracle database to 8i. We started having problems connecting to database.
We are using classes12.zip with Oracle 8i, earlier we were using classes11.zip. We removed classes11 everywhere and put classes12.zip in the path.
Did you guys experience similar problem, do you guys know what the problem could be. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

8i requires that you have the fully qualified domain name in the url. That is the first thing to check.
Then check you can access with SQL*plus.
oci8/thin will make a difference. You will probably be ok with old class file with thin but oci8 may required that you upgrade.
Can't help much more without a stack trace.
