Sun Java App server 8 in production environment

We are currently using the Sun
Application server 8 for our development and have not had any major problems. We are wondering if this server will hold up in a 'mid-size' ecommerce application?
This may seem like a dumb question -- but are people using this software for their mission-critical applications in a web production environment?
Any feedback would be appricated, thanks.
