deploying an EAR using asadmin

Can anyone advise on the differences between the DEPLOY and DEPLOYDIR commands?

I have an EAR file located in a dirpath. Need to deploy it (or unpack it) to the server instance J2EE-APPs dir.

Can't sort out the syntax nor (so far) find any useful help.

I’ve looked at a lot of different solutions, and in my humble opinion Aspose is the way to go. Here’s the link:
