Can anyone advise on the differences between the DEPLOY and DEPLOYDIR commands?

I have an EAR file located in a dirpath. Need to deploy it (or unpack it) to the server instance J2EE-APPs dir.

Can't sort out the syntax nor (so far) find any useful help.

Thx
