Hello JavaRanchers

Got a simple problem regarding Sun One Application Server 7. I cannot find where in the server setting i can restrict the directory listing of a web application, like wise if i type in the URL
and is the folder does not have any index.html, index.htm, or index.jsp page then it lists all the files in that directory, i would like to disable this, can any one help me out with this.

Thanks and Regards

Use the admin server the following way:
1. In the left pane, for the application server instance, open HTTP Server.
2. Open Virtual Servers.
3. Click the name of the virtual server you want to edit.
4. Click the Doc Handling tab-->Document preferences-->Directory Indexing.
5. Choose "none".

There aren't many rules that you need to worry about here on the Ranch, but one that we take very seriously regards the use of proper names. Please take a look at the JavaRanch Naming Policy and adjust your display name to match it.

In particular, your display name must be a first and a last name separated by a space character, and must not be obviously fictitious.
