Please recommend a good Java based Work flow engines available in the market.

I need to develop J2EE based 'Loan Approval System' that requires work flow engine.
Work flow engine concept is quite new to me. So I also request to explain the same. Can it work without RDBMS ? If yes, How?

You might start by looking at what some of these can do, and how they do it.

hi puranik,

you said that you want to develop a loan delivering system using workflow.so i suggest to use workflow by open symphony i.e OSWorkFlow. Its very flexible but it will take time to get the concept.

See this site for more details

I agree. Here's the link: http://ej-technologies/jprofiler - if it wasn't for jprofiler, we would need to run our stuff on 16 servers instead of 3.
