<pre> Author/s : Cay S. Horstmann & Gary Cornell Publisher : Sun Microsystems Press Category :Advanced Review by : Mary Jane Swirski Rating : 8 horseshoes</pre> Beginner? Then this book is for you! I am a COBOL programmer & found this book very easy to read. Concepts are explained easily, then example code is provided. Great for anyone new to Java or OO concepts. I would recommend this to any greenhorn who is trying to learn the Java language without the benefit of an professional instructor. This book, plus Marty Hall's Core Servlets and Java Server Pages and O'Reilly's Java Servlet Programming books were enough to allow me to make the jump from Perl/CGI developer over into the world of server-side Java development a few years ago. Having an academic background in C and C++ certainly helped get the most out of this book. Overall I found this book to be an excellent resource.
Actually deserves 10 horseshoes( if you compare the number of people benefited by this book compared to the one's benefited by the books that got a perfect 10) Dan.
