That is the question this book deals with. It starts with an introduction to configuration management and patterns. The following 16 patterns provide solutions to common problems and constitute the core of the book. Finally there is a short discussion of popular tools. Parts of the text are a little bit dry and could have made use of more examples. The book also basically confines itself to the use of tools and ignores alternative, organizational solutions. By and large though, it contains well comprehensible information about an important topic.
