The smartcard has been touted as the next revolution in the
computer industry, but with proprietary APIs and limited applications
smartcards haven't been as popular as first imagined. Now,
the JavaCard API hopes to change some of this by providing
an open platform that can support multiple application on one smartcard.
This talk will discuss some of the advantages of the JavaCard API and
present some of the technical details involved in making a Java enabled
smart card.
