I was wondering if anyone will be going to any of these.
see http://www.sun.com/developers/techdays/ for more info.
I'm considering attending the London venue but since I'm a bit new to the whole conference I'm not sure if all going to a bit over my head being relatively inexperienced.
Any opinions?

I have found that, in general, Sun's technology presentations seem to be good value. I went to one in London last year and found the presentations generally informative both for newcomers and people with more experience. Being able to meet, talk, and question both the Sun presenters and the vendors in the vendor hall was *very* useful. And they gave away some free stuff ...
I went to a similar presentation from BEA (weblogic etc.) recently and found it poorly organized and not very informative in comparison with Sun's event.
I'm thinking of attending at least the first day of this event. If you do decide to go, let me know and we can meet up! (wow, someone from JavaRanch, "in the flesh")

Well BA won't let me go unless I take time off .. so I'm not sure yet. Have registered though .. just in case!

I guess some people manage to go to things like this on work time, but I always have to take time off and fund things myself - which is why I prefer to go to events which are worth the time. For me a day's pay is a very tangible thing ...

apparently i'm not senior enough ... if I had been a senior developer it would have been no problem .. they paid all expenses for 5 people to go to Java One .. but I can't go to a Free conference all in the name of "Training".
I've just discovered that BA have also paid for our Application Architects to be Sun Certified ... but they won't pay the programmers to go for their equivilent. I find this all very annoying, and i think it's silly because surely we would be encouraged to stay with a company which allows us to develop our skill and gain qualifications which make us feel that we have achieved something.

Looks like i'm not going to be able to go after all! BA have decided to choose that week to send me on a much needed OO Design and Analysis Course. Never mind!

Hi,
I attended the Conference at Seattle this month. It was really worth and some of the sessions were technically good. Sun covered J2ME w.r.t to other wireless technologies also, which i think was good.

For those who missed, the entire Conference at Seattle will be available on Jan'21, i think, at the web site of Sun
