I live in Central Oregon and am a rank beginner. Would this be a good use of my time to go to (3 1/2 hr drive each way)

This old fart does sometimes go to JUGS meetings... but not 3 1/2 hours each way (risk your life for java, no thanks)
Better: hot bath, whiskey, waterproof-paper books...
