For those of you who don't know, amazon.com ranks reviewers based on customer feedback. By clicking on the yes-no buttons by a review that ask "was this review helpful" you provide feedback to amazon that is used to rate the reviewers. If a reviewer is rated within the top 1,000 reviewers, amazon puts a little badge next to the reviewer's name on all his/her reviews. Today I moved into position 992 and earned a badge! Woo hoo! It took 97 reviews with 636 helpful votes (a pretty good ratio).
Great news, Thomas. Congratulations on some well-deserved recognition.

Ach! I lost my badge having fallen back to 1,001. Don't you people ever vote?

I clicked like crazy. Hope they aren't smart enough to spot voting for a particular reviewer from a particular IP. So what is YOUR reason for not to vote for Tom's reviews? [ November 27, 2003: Message edited by: Mapraputa Is ]

Actually they are! Try to limit your clicking to no more than three a day!
Hey Guys, You can help both Thomas and me with a single click, since he was gracious enough to review my book as well... Thanks Thomas Click Me! And if you're feeling really ambitious, click on some other reviewers while you're there.

Just to clarify, I am not asking people to simply vote mindlessly for my reviews. That would defeat all the fun of writing reviews! However, if you like one of my reviews and have found it helpful then by all means please vote for that review. The link to the page for my reviews is in my signature. You have to go to the actual book in order to vote for the review. Thanks!

Ok, Tom, this time I did not vote for your review, as I liked another review better. Forgot his name, some reader from Apex, North Carolina... P.S. I lied. I voted for Tom too.

Thanks, Map. My ranking has gone to 910 so I got my badge back with room to spare! Thanks to all.
