Elisabeth, Kathy, Bert and I are putting the final wrap on the Head First Design Patterns book. We expect it to ship at the same time as OOPSLA (Oct 24-28th)!

But we have a chance for one of you to be an "extra" in the book, in fact on FOUR pages!

Here's what we need: we need a picture of you posing as a park ranger. We need something along the lines of http://www.criminal-justice-career.com/dbpix/parkranger-l.jpg, However, it is best if you are shot against a white background. You don't need all the extras, there is always photoshop, but the closer you can get to the look the better (shirt, hat, etc.). Here's a hat image if you want to photoshop yourself: http://www.cs.yale.edu/homes/freeman/RangerHat.gif.

As they say in the movie industry, here's your motivation: The first shot is just an "official looking" shot where you are introduced as a park ranger and quackologist (one who is interested in the quacking behavior of ducks - don't ask . The other three shots should show you in various levels of being excited about our progress and asking if we can do one more thing.

Send me a link to your entries, or reply to this thread if you like. Hopefully we will get some entries and we will decide on a winner Sunday night (US time)!

Thanks,

Eric

P.S. I can also tell you there is at least one cameo performance in the book from a, ummm, gang member, if you know what I mean. If not, all will be revealed in Head First Design Patterns.
