Hi,

I am a SCJP and have been designing and developing J2EE applications. However, most of them have been relatively 'small' using JSP/Servlets/Tomcat.

I want to get started with architecting / designing bigger apps and find myself lacking what is needed to get there. I know there are loads of books out there and am confused where to start.
I am looking for suggestions regarding the books that I can start with... something that will get me to speed soon with examples of different types of architectures, when what should be used etc. Also, suggestions for books that will give me good inputs on OO design with Java.

Any other suggestions on improving my skills in this area are also welcome.

Thanks in advance,
Sindu

I think that "Core J2EE Patterns" (Prentice Hall PTR) is a good place to start.
