If no one has answered, that's probably because of one or more of the following reasons:

- no one knew an answer

- the people who would have known an answer didn't find your post

- people didn't find it worthwhile to answer

Not much to do about the first, but for the rest it might help to make sure that the right people read your post and that it's fun to answer it.

This post, for example, fails for me in both aspects, because the subject line doesn't help in deciding whether I actually *can* help you, and it doesn't provide a link to your original post, making it unnecessarily hard for me to find it.

See http://faq.javaranch.com/view?HowToAskQuestionsOnJavaRanch for a lot of good tips.

Hi riyaz,

I've just posted some useful tips on your previous thread.

Anyway, just in addition to Ilja Preuss post, I also would like to tell you that sometimes you can find a really prompt reply on JavaRanch for your questions. However, sometimes you have to wait a little more. As Ilja said, no one would knew an answer or maybe they don't have so much time to reply right now and decided to reply later instead.

So, in these cases you just have to wait. That's all !

Oh, I also could realize that your first thread was posted on September 09, 2006 04:33 AM and I replied on September 09, 2006 10:44 AM.

Don't you think six hours a reasonable time to get a good reply ?

In my point of view, getting a good reply within six hours is a really prompt reply. By the way, you are not posting your questions on a real time chat, are you ?

Best Regards Man and be patient

Please do not post pointers to other threads. If, after a reasonable time has passed, you want to call attention toit, a new reply will bring it to the top of the list.
