I don't know in which forum to ask about this.
I would like to know about writing programming books. How does the whole process gets going ? Contacting an editor ? Sending a draft ? About the layout and the format. About the remuneration. There's so much to ask ! If any authors could share some light, that would be greatly appreciated.

It's a huge topic, but here is a great place to get most of your questions answered. After reading this, feel free to ask more specific questions:

Self-publish.

Get an ISBN, write it in Microsoft Word, and list it on amazon.com.

That's how I got started.

Check out the link, especially the pricing page. It'll show you exactly what it'll cost to print up 25, 250, or 2500 copies of your book.

Let me know if you need help. If you write it, I'll publish it for you.

Get writing!

Thank you Cameron. I will check it out too.
Once it's been published, how do you deal with sale price and distribution ?

No no no, I'm not writing yet. Just wondering how the whole process goes. If I were writing, that would be Java related.
