Head First SQL

I am really looking forward to this book ...
I have felt the need from a long time to brush up my SQL knowledge and aquire some advanced knowledge about it .

I am wondering whether the book would also cover PL-SQL . What would be its table of content . I am hoping somebody from the Head First team will shed more light on the questions above .

Hi Guys,

This book is mostly written, we're doing edits at this point. My guess is that it will be available in a couple of months in the US and shortly thereafter in other parts of the world. As we get closer to completion the availability estimates will get better, and we'll let you know.

Well , I could not hold back myself and pinged safari support asking when the book will be available on Safari . Given below is the reply I got

Hi Vivek,

Our production team told me that the book should be on Safari in about 2
weeks.

Once the editing phase is complete I don't know the details of actual dates for availability in the US and in other countries. I have asked the editors at O'Reilly to either tell me, or to post that info here - so we'll all just have to keep our fingers crossed

Looks like we'll have books in the US right before Labor Day. As for the books in India, the Domestic International copies should arrive in about a month or around October 1. However...I'm assuming you're talking about the Indian versions which are different - we've haven't secured a publisher for that yet - but we'll let you know when we do.

I am glad to inform you all that this book is available in India. Last week I saw the book in one book store of Mumbai.

I got the book in Bangalore yesterday.

I live in Chennai and it doesn't look like the book is out here yet.. yesterday had been to The Landmark (book store) and don't think I saw it there. In fact, I just finished searching the Indian portals and none of them have got the book listed.

What is most funny is that the Shroff Publishers themselves don't have it listed.. Just try this..

Try checking it out at Eswar book house. www.eswar.com. Since you are in chennai, you can call them and ask if the book is there and I'm sure that they will have it. I don't know for what reason, shops like Landmark get the books later than compared to other shops which get them sooner.

The price is around Rs. 500 and after discount you get it for Rs. 425 like I got it from www.sapnabookhouse.com in Bangalore.

Yes, I do know T. Nagar and the traffic it has always. You probably might try calling them first and then may be go on a weekday.
