A friend of mine has been given the instructing position for a C class at the University of Missouri. Prentice Hall has contacted him about buying books from them for the course and he asked if I would ask on here if any teachers/intructors are teaching or has taught C/C++ courses and what books they think are good. Preferrebly book from PH if possible but all recomendations are welcome. Thanks.

My personal favorite is the C++ Primer by Stan Lippman, now in its 3rd edition. I must admit it has been about 20 years since I read it though. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0201824701/qid%3D1067903120/103-8899131-3890219 A few reviewers have bashed it, which is a shame. I learned C++ from it many moons ago. If you need a reference for language lawyers, get The Annotated C++ Reference Manula, by Ellis and Stroustrup. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0201514591/103-8899131-3890219 Peace. Don't know if it's still in print, but 13 years ago I loved the 'Micro$oft C Bible' - even though I hate micro$oft, that was a great book.
