Possible opportunity for teachers/authors

Hey folks -- I want to plant a small seed here:
O'Reilly needs/wants more Head First books, and they want them SOON. Right now, Bert and I have to be heavily involved in all of them, so we are the bottleneck. Nobody else has been able to successfully pass the "audition" (instead of proposals, they do auditions for Head First). We believe that teachers, including those who've never written a thing, are potentially the best candidates, as opposed to traditional tech writers (although there is nothing stopping a tech writer from making the jump).
So... we are considering having a week-long extremely intense bootcamp on how to do this, and want to know if there is any interest. If you are not an already-signed author, but have strong interest and potential, you would not have to pay to attend, but you would probably have to cover your own expenses to come to the bay area. However, we can probably find ways to make the stay really cheap once you got there.
It would, in our humble opinion ; ) be a huge opportunity for someone who wants to do this, and would be a combination workshop (everyone will produce at least one full chapter, most will do two).
* Learning theory (extremely intense)
* Psychology
* Neurobiology
* Marketing/positioning
* Advertising principles (as applied in the book)
* Game Design principles (as applied in the book)
* InDesign training (this is the easiest part) and art production
So, it could be a wonderful opportunity for someone to have *free* very intense, very unique training, with the goal being that you end the week with a signed book contract and the ability to actually DO it. (Nobody will be doing their first one alone... we would still be a co-author and help out, but the goal is to reduce the level of involvement that Bert and I have per book).
If you are interested, please write to me directly, although you're free to discuss it here as well:

That is really cool Kathy. I can't imagine your going to have a problem getting people to go. I Wish I was in a position to attend myself.
