Hi
I have been working with Java and J2EE for the past 2 yrs and want someone to help me with a career advice. I want to do my masters in computer science with main emphasis on client-server computing from the US during which I also want to do a research on Java.
The main intention of posting this query here is to elicit a response from fellow professionals in Java who have done their MS from US. My main objective to do a masters is to get an in-depth knowledge from a class room course rather than books.

Any help would be welcome!

Rgds

PS: If anyone of you know someone doing his masters in US in computer science, please provide me with his/her e-mail id. Would appreciate it a lot.

I'm doing my MS now. I don't think you have the right idea of what a MS involves at least at a research university in the US. People don't typically do their MS in a programming language. They usually do it in something more theoretical. A programming language such as Java is just a tool for your project. You could just as easily use C++ or Perl, whatever seems most suited for the project you are involved in. The one time when you might concentrate on a programming language is if you were doing your thesis on programming langauges. In such a case you would then be looking at theory behind how they work, how they can be improved and what other methods there are for creating languages etc. (There may be more, it is not my field).
The best thing for you to do is go to the websites of different Universities and look at the sort of research the professors are interested in. Then apply to schools which have professors whose interests match yours.
There may be other educational opportunities available as well which might provide what you are looking for. But in terms of a MS I think you should look at a broader scope.
