Distance learning

Hi,
Any one here studied via distance learning for undergraduate or postgraduate?
If yes where and how was your experience?
I am doing my postgraduate and it is quite extensive .....

See this thread for my experiences researching an online Masters and my experiences there.

I did most of a Masters program through Drexel over Notes and the Internet. My company made a special deal of some kind and quite a few people completed the whole thing. Some classes were excellent with lots of teacher and student participation on Blackboard or private messages. Others were just slides and a big paper at the end. I hated the "group assignments" partly because we didn't have proper collaboration software and partly because some people just disappeared.

Overall an effective way to get a piece of paper, probably far short of real classes and conversations as a way to learn something.

Depends on the program of course. Mine had "real" conversations through a message board. I learn plenty here at JavaRanch so I consider that real and a legitimate way to learn something...

Thanks for the valuable information.
I am doing my Msc in Information Security from Univeristy of London.
The lead college is Royal Holloway.
The first module is about Information Security Management. It is vast subject
as it covers security, compliance, regulations, law etc.
Does any one know about this programme?

I did most of my 'formal' education through online education.

I'm not big on classrooms. I want to be entertained, and I find few teachers who entertain and keep people's interest.

I like being able to work at my own pace, and get things done on my own time. Online learning makes that happen for me.
