Welcome to the Ranch.
I don't usually post on this part of the forum.
You can find the index page for the API specifications here, for Java 6. I couldn't find the teacher class.
You will also find all sorts of examples, from the very simplest to quite complicated in the Java� Tutorials, even though I fulminate against them regularly for putting everything into the main method.
There are lots of articles from Sun here. You will occasionally need access to the Java Language Specification and the Virtual Machine Specification. And when things go wrong, you want a discussion forum where people are friendly, and where they will tell you kindly when you have made a mistake. There is a really good forum here.
Suggest you bookmark those websites. There are others. Lots of them.
