I would like to propose a JMX forum. The technology is still a little young, but it looks to me that's its going to have a lot of potential. I'm going to be investigating it over the next few weeks.
So far I haven't seen any JMX postings in the "Other Java APIs" forum. I suspect, based on my observations in postings over the last two months, this is because, in addition to being a relatively new APIset, most developers here are either web based, in college, or playing around with the new technologies. There are currently very few developers who seem to be working on enterprise level applications, at which JMX is aimed (or they tend not to post too many questions :-) Of course, that doesn't mean this site can't start attracting them with appropriate forums.

The informal process we have here is that you first have to show some evidence of interest in a topic before we'll create a forum specially for it. That's why we opened Other Java APIs - to give people somewhere to discuss stuff that hasn't (yet) got a forum of its own.
I suggest that you try and "drum up business" in the Other Java APIs forum first to see how many others are interested. Post some questions and informational posts, ask for peoples' experience, describe your experiences, and so on. Once you have a lively discussion going, we can start another forum. If you've done a good job, and want the honor, we might even promote you to moderator (bartender) to look after it !

Hi
I am JMX Product Manager and Spec Lead, working for Sun Microsystems.
I have just found out this forum and will advertise it on the JMX web page:
http://java.sun.com/products/JavaManagement
Just to let you know that there is an official JMX forum with a mailing list, you can subscribe via the JMX web page.
We are looking at being a JDC forum.
It is hard for us to be present on all forums (especially the ones we are not aware of
