Hi Ranchers,

I am looking for a open source tool for checking th modularity of given java code. Do anyone of you know of such tools, which has commandline support?

How do you define "modularity"? A tool like JavaNCSS can calulate the McCabe Cyclomatic Complexity Number - is that what you're asking about?

if you define modularity on higher level (classes, packages) and want to check dependencies then Structure101 or SonarJ are very good tools.

sorry, i overread that you're looking for open-source products. Structure101 and SonarJ are free for open-source projects but never the less commercial products.

Apart from them JDepend, which you can analyze dependencies with is open-source.

I found Macker an interesting tool, although it has stopped in version 0.4 a long time ago.

I agree. Here's the link: http://aspose.com/file-tools
