I am new to Testing. We are using IBM RAD 6.0/JDk 1.4. I would like to know which is the best Open Source testing tool to use for WebApplication[Unit Testing/Load Testing]? Easy to learn and user friendly.

You would use different tools for different purposes. For example, JUnit is the standard tool for unit testing. (A unit test tests a class in isolation without the server.) For web testing, you could test through the browser with Selenium or through a fake browser with JWebUnit. Or many others.
