I heard IBM had a certification on UML.
May I have some input from you friends who have gone through that or are working on it?
Which Books do I need to have/buy? Online resources, if any.
Thanks a bunch in advance.

Hi, Check the site www.objectsbydesign for all details. you can also check www-4.ibm.com. There is a site called certify.torolab.com. This one provides all details about this exam by IBM. It has 30 questions to be answered in 1 hour. You have to answer 21 right to get the certifications. The test No is given in the same site. It also has sample test papers. Solve those qns, its enough. bye for now. feel free to write to me.

Please refer to IBM Test 486 : Object-Oriented Analysis and Design with UML for more information on this test, viz. Objectives,Recommended Education Resources and Pre-Assessment/Sample Test.
Hope this helps,

Thanks for starting this thread. I need to pass this test to achieve level 2 of the Oracle Java Developer path (www.jcert.org).
IBM's site mentions this book:
Read Applying UML and Patterns: An Introduction to Object- Oriented Analysis and Design
Author: Craig Larman
Publisher: Prentice Hall
ISBN: 0137488807
I'm going to check it out.
I found the IBM sample test difficult, so I know I need a lot to learn.

OOPS - I just found out that this book is coming out with a second edition July 17th. My local bookstore (Borders) has pulled the older edition off of the shelf. Oh well. I guess I will have to wait.

Skip,
Glad to know that you are planning to achieve Level 2 from Oracle Track. You happen to be the first person whom I know of having ventured into taking the Oracle Jcert track.
I am also following the same track.I have cleared all the tests of Level 3 and 1 test (Oracle JDeveloper) of Level 2.I would be taking the Test 486 - OOAD with UML test in the coming week.BTW, you have reached the right place to prepare for Test 486.
Cheers,
Sandeep
