SUMMARY
This position reports to the Manager of Emerging Technology and has responsibility for building, designing, and deploying new technology into the site. The ideal candidate will have strong package integration and custom development experience using today's leading technologies in an OLTP environment. The position will work with internal IT employees, external consultants, and internal users.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Integrate new enterprise applications into existing web store and back-office systems.
Develop custom features and core components.
Solve technical problems as they arise.
Develop expertise rapidly in the new applications.
Communicate, verbally and in writing, knowledge to other team members and technical issues to management.
System performance engineering.
Make recommendations on new technologies, features, tools, etc.

SKILLS
OOP experience in either Java or C++.
Experience with UNIX and RDBMS systems.
Strong Database skills - preferably Oracle.
Skills in developing creative solutions to problems and limitations of technology.
Tier one E-commerce package experience (e.g. Broadvision, ATG) is a strong plus.
Javascript experience a plus.
HP3000/MPE/Image Database experience a plus.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) or equivalent; or three to five years related experience and/or training:
Minimum of 2+ years experience programming in a UNIX environment
Minimum of 1+ years programming with major RDBMS systems.
Minimum of 2+ years experience programming in C++ or Java
Or equivalent combination of education and experience
