what is the best way to learn UML? Or books any good for one like me with no designing experience at all? If so, what books?

Hi Vasuma, I was in the same state of mind as you are now, about 2 months back. I started learning UML from Applying UML and Patterns,Craig Larman, and followed it up with UML Distilled, Martin Fowler.To keep things interesting, and also to pick up information as quickly as possible, I was actively taking part in this discussion forum. Although, I have some experience and Certifications on Java and Enterprise Technologies, I was (am still ) a novice for UML.My programming experience has helped me to relate things that I picked up in OOAD with UML, especially the Design Patterns. I am planning to take IBM Test 486 : Object-Oriented Analysis and Design with UML, by the end of next week.This will allow me to earn the Oracle Certified (Solution/Enterprise) Java Developer title, which is an Oracle Java track for Jcert Initiative.I have become confident in this subject, only by sharing my views and learning from this forum.I would encourage you to do the same.I am sure you will appreciate the gains in about 2 months time from now.
