At first glance, MetaMill seems to be a lightweight wonder, at least for class diagrams. I could produce a simple class diagram in just a few minutes, faster, I think, than with anything else I've tried.
Half of what makes it so easy is this (copied from their help): "Attributes and operations can be defined in free format. That allows you to easily and quickly design the contents of high level classes. However, when code generation is used, attributes and operators are supposed to be in format defined in UML specification." So you use the property-strings {abstract} and {static} instead of the italics and underlining.
Routing associations is a bit interesting -- the ends of each association like to point to the center of the boxes to which they connect -- but it took only moments to find a way to produce decent-looking results for multiple associations between two classes.
Unlike some of the low-end (and top-end) tools I tried, it printed well. To get the drawings in another document, you cut and paste. It pastes Windows metafile format, which resizes well.
There are some other things about the way it works that make it look useful in the context of a development process, but I've not had a chance to check them out yet.
MetaMill doesn't appear do collaboration diagrams, but it does have a number of others (among them sequence, statechart, use case).
At first glance, MetaMill looks quite promising as a inexpensive tool for day-to-day use.
