From the posts, it looks like a number of you (myself included) are studying for IBM's UML test. Many of you (myself again included) are going for the IBM solution developer certification, of which the UML test is one of the three required. Some of you have also expressed a lack of funds. Well, in case you didn't notice, IBM is offering a number of their certification tests for FREE right now, most notably their new WebSphere and Visual Age for Java (VAJ) tests. I think the rule is that you have to be one of the first 400 to score a 75% or higher on the ICE exam for the appropriate exam in order to get a voucher for a free test. I passed the VAJ ICE exam recently and got a voucher, so I think there are still some available. If you are interested, I've provided the link here.
As an update, I just checked the site and I no longer see a reference to a limited number of vouchers being given. I do see that you would have to pass the ICE exam before December 14, 2001 and take the test before December 31, 2001, however. I hope this information helps someone; it saved me ~ $175 that I otherwise would have to spend for the VAJ Exam.
