hi all,
i wanted to bu a good book on UML. to give my background,
- i have done little UML (using Rational Rose) in my masters degree
- i am a java developer, professional for 1.5 yrs and in school i've done java for almost 3 yrs so i'm comfortable with OO
- i know OO Modeling fundamentals (i've read that famous Rambaugh book so to say). though i've not applied those really as u might know how these professional projects meet deadlines
- i don't think i would need 'spoon feeding' sort of guidance in learning more about UML
- i'm a thoro computer science major (bach. and masters) so i believe i can grasp things little easier
- i might take IBM 486 exam about UML
should i go buy "UML Distilled" by Martin Fowler? or if any other books will be more useful to me?
i have read some reviews on Amazon but i really don't want to invest money on something which i find 'okay' instead of 'good/excellent' u know.
please provide ur input on this. it would be a great help to me. i've been thinking about UML book for so long (i never manage enough time to figure out which book and buy it)...
thank you.

I found Schaums outline theory series book on UML to be very good it has two detailed case studies and is reasonably priced.

(By author names)
1:By Martin Fowler, book is UML Distilled.

Another book that might interest you is "UML for Java Programmers" by Robert C. Martin. You can find the preliminary script at http://www.objectmentor.com/UMLFJP/

The soul is dyed the color of its thoughts. Think only on those things that are in line with your principles and can bear the light of day. The content of your character is your choice. Day by day, what you do is who you become. Your integrity is your destiny - it is the light that guides your way. - Heraclitus
