I had a job interview this afternoon and the guy talked about the 8 or 9 fundamental principals of OO. One was something like open/close. The other was like seperation of interface. HUH?
Did he get this in some OO class I did not take or did I miss something.
PS where can I read more?

I don't know about the classes you took, but these principles are rather well known and important (or so it seems to me...).
You can get an overview of the principles at http://www.objectmentor.com/resources/listArticles?key=topic&topic=Design%20Principles
They are also discussed at http://c2.com/cgi/wiki?PrinciplesOfObjectOrientedDesign
The book "Agile Software Development - Principles, Patterns and Practices" by Robert Martin is very good at putting the principles in context, IMO.
Hope this helps...

Are these basic OO or do they have their roots in Agile and XP Methodologies?
TIA

They are basic OO and in no way bound to Agile development.
